Lil' Keke, born Marcus Lakee Edwards on March 29, 1976, is an American rapper known for his work with the Screwed Up Click, a Southern hip-hop collective. He is considered a founding member of the Screwed Up Click, a group that popularized the "chopped and screwed" sound in Houston, Texas. Lil' Keke began his career working alongside DJ Screw on mixtapes.
Lil' Keke's music career took off in the 1990s, and he has released numerous mixtapes and albums, including his solo debut "Don't Mess wit Texas" in 1997. His song "South Side" became a cultural anthem. He also signed with Swishahouse and released his debut album, "Loved by Few, Hated by Many".
