Film Club is starting back up for the new year with Double Features from two classic horror franchises! House (1985) A horror-comedy about a Vietnam veteran and horror novelist, who moves into his late aunt's haunted mansion to write his next book, confronting supernatural terrors that force him to face his past trauma, including the mysterious disappearance of his son. The spooky occurrences in the house, filled with grotesque monsters, are linked to his unresolved guilt from the war and his family's history, turning his attempt at a new chapter into a terrifying journey through his own psyche. Candyman (1992) In this unrated version, graduate student Helen Lyle investigates the urban legend of a hook-handed, supernatural serial killer who haunts Chicago's Cabrini-Green housing projects. By summoning him through a mirror, Helen becomes the target of his psychological games and gruesome murders, forcing her to confront the reality of the myth. Films start at 7pm.
